Formal season is just around the corner. You’ve probably already found the perfect dress and shoes to wear on the night, but have you thought about your hair and makeup? Here are some popular 2014 Formal Hair and Makeup Ideas:

1. Soft Evening Makeup and a Low Side Swept Bun This is a soft elegant look which is great for those who don’t usually wear a lot of makeup or those who are looking for a style that won’t take away too much attention from their fabulous dress. You honestly can’t go wrong with a smokey eye and natural lips (little or no touch ups required!) Also by having your hair in a low side bun, it will show off any beading or details you have on your dress and it’s also a great way to make your fabulous jewelry stand out.

2. Classic Glam Makeup and BIG Sexy Hair! This look speaks for itself! A very sexy classic look that photographs amazingly! I would recommend this look if you’re going to be wearing a simpler styled dress rather than an extravagant evening gown. Keep in mind that with bolder lips, you’ll probably need to touch them up throughout the night.

3. Modern Makeup Look & Voluminous Waved Upstyle Looking for a unique style? Why not try this look out! The makeup is an in between version of the “soft” & “glam” makeup. The eyes are still defined however there is a pop of colour on the lips. Also this unique voluminous waved upstyle is great for those who are wearing a backless dress but still want to have a bit of hair there. This style photographs really well especially on lighter hair.

Camille Sioco is a full time account and office manager by day, and a fashion blogger by night. Her popular blog Frilly Skirts consists of many stylish outfits, cute nail designs and numerous Look Book posts.

I came across Camille through instagram and after seeing her amazing photos, I reached out and we got talking about collaborating. Not longer after, we organised a shoot together where Camille styled herself and I looked after the hair, makeup and photography side.

Believe it or not but we shot these images on a VERY VERY cold and windy afternoon. It was so windy that were were both being pushed around by the strong winds and my camera bag which I left on the ground (with my canon 7D in it) tipped over and was close to flying away!

Nevertheless we both soldiered on that afternoon and managed to create some beautiful images. I’m super happy with the outcome and even more thrilled that I made an awesome new friend along the way!

I hope you guys love the shots as much as I do!

I don’t wear contacts often but I’m currently loving the ones from desiolens.com

Unlike other coloured contacts I’ve worn in the past, these ones are super comfortable to wear and I could hardly feel that I had them on. I also really like that these lenses have a combination of colours, making them look more realistic. The ones I’m wearing are called “desert dream” and they give your eyes the heat of the desert sands softened by sunset- sounds super seductive right?

I’d highly recommend these lenses if you’re looking for realistic coloured contacts.

I’m probably one of the few people who don’t have a typical “everyday” makeup look  or a certain fashion style that I stick to, and I think that’s completely acceptable! Especially if you are one who gets bored of their look easily- like me.

Now it’s not that I’m indecisive, I just like deciding on my look based on how I’m feeling that day.

On this particular day, I felt like adding a touch of old hollywood glamour to my style. So I curled my hair with 16mm curling tong, let it set,  then brushed out the curls to create this vintage wave.

For makeup, I rimmed my eyes and added a flick at the end with m.a.c blacktrack, then added falsies on top to give it that extra oomph.

So…what do you guys think of the overall look? I personally love it, hence the reason for the spontaneous photo shoot.

Oh and for those of you who are wondering, I set up these shots myself and got hubby pressed the shutter 🙂 Gotta love my man for always helping me out!

I recently teamed up with SchwarzkopfViktoria Novak and Fashion Blogger, Joanne Phua to create some awesome images for the “Australia’s Most Beautiful Hair” competition.

I was the makeup artist and photographer for the shoot, so I had complete creative control! Seeing that I was quite new to photography, I felt somewhat nervous on the day. Luckily, the day ran smoothly and Joanne was such a lovely person to work with. I’ll definitely be working with her again in the future!
