I’m probably one of the few people who don’t have a typical “everyday” makeup look  or a certain fashion style that I stick to, and I think that’s completely acceptable! Especially if you are one who gets bored of their look easily- like me.

Now it’s not that I’m indecisive, I just like deciding on my look based on how I’m feeling that day.

On this particular day, I felt like adding a touch of old hollywood glamour to my style. So I curled my hair with 16mm curling tong, let it set,  then brushed out the curls to create this vintage wave.

For makeup, I rimmed my eyes and added a flick at the end with m.a.c blacktrack, then added falsies on top to give it that extra oomph.

So…what do you guys think of the overall look? I personally love it, hence the reason for the spontaneous photo shoot.

Oh and for those of you who are wondering, I set up these shots myself and got hubby pressed the shutter 🙂 Gotta love my man for always helping me out!

I recently teamed up with SchwarzkopfViktoria Novak and Fashion Blogger, Joanne Phua to create some awesome images for the “Australia’s Most Beautiful Hair” competition.

I was the makeup artist and photographer for the shoot, so I had complete creative control! Seeing that I was quite new to photography, I felt somewhat nervous on the day. Luckily, the day ran smoothly and Joanne was such a lovely person to work with. I’ll definitely be working with her again in the future!

When it comes to Asian makeup, the eyes are the most important feature on the face, and it’s the one you should be spending the most time on. I know a lot of people out there don’t have perfect eyelids but don’t worry! A little bit of eyelid tape will do the trick! Now there’s a fair few products out there on the market that can help you even out those eyelids. Some of them include double eyelid glue, eyelid tape, eyelid fiber and double sided eyelid tape. Different ones work better on different eyelid types but they generally give the same results.

On my clients I prefer using double eyelid tape which I cut to size according to their eye shape. Once applied correctly, it lasts all day and looks very natural, even when they close their eyes. This technique is perfect for brides and people who want to make their eyes look bigger without all the heavy eye makeup. See below for photos

It is important to prep and apply a good base on clients with acne prone skin. Sometimes the pimples can be quite sore and dry so take extra care when working around those areas and make sure you chose the best type of foundation for their skin type. Try not to apply too much product as you don’t want their skin to look cakey. It’s best to use a green based concealer to cover any redness and remember to apply powder to set your base.

Below is a before and after image of a client who suffered from acne.
